Not worth the hype

Hi! I bought inZOI with high expectations. As a fan of simulation games like The Sims, I was really excited to try something new that promised innovation, realistic AI, and deep customization. Unfortunately, after spending 40 euros, I feel completely disappointed.

The game feels unfinished, like a beta version released too early but with a full price tag. It has tons of bugs – my character literally walks through buildings and walls, like there’s no real-world logic applied. It’s extremely immersion-breaking.

The graphics, despite the claimed improvements from the last update, are still not impressive. The game remains blurry no matter what settings I use. I expected better visual quality, especially considering how heavily they promoted the visual aspects.

Character customization is extremely limited. You get three pairs of earrings, four pairs of socks, and just a few basic outfits. Accessories are either missing or look totally uninspired. As a girl who really enjoys styling and fashion in games, I was disappointed to see how underdeveloped this part is.

Then there’s the repetitive content. For example, when your avatar watches TV, it loops the same 3-4 second clip over and over again. That’s not gameplay. That’s filler. It feels lazy – like nobody bothered to make it immersive.

And although the idea of uploading your real-life clothes using AI is cool, it’s not enough to carry the game. It’s the only exciting feature, and everything else just feels rushed. The world is big, sure, but it’s also boring, lifeless, and lacking detail.Honestly, I regret paying 40 euros. A game in this state should’ve been released as early access or at a reduced price, with clear communication that it’s still in active development. That would have been fair. Releasing it like this and promising updates “someday” isn’t a good look.To the developers: You still have a chance to make this something amazing. But right now, it’s far from that. Please listen to players – especially those who love games like The Sims. We don’t just want a big world. We want a living, detailed, stylish experience that we can get lost in.Thanks for reading.
