The latest inZOI development video showcases a range of improvements to the game's core systems, including more reliable Zoi interactions, expanded Create a Zoi customization, new social animations, and additional quality-of-life features.
The development team is also working to bring MCP-based modding to macOS, allowing Mac players to create mods with the help of large language models. Meanwhile, further improvements to Build Mode, autonomy, and family presets remain in development.
🧑 Create a Zoi Improvements
Create a Zoi is receiving several improvements designed to make character customization more convenient.
Customizations are preserved when switching age groups
A new memory system for Create a Zoi is being introduced. When players customize a Zoi in one age group, switch to another, and then return to the previous age group, their earlier customizations will no longer reset.
This makes it easier to work on different life stages without losing previously completed changes.
Better compatibility for facial hair
With more facial hair options being added to the game, headwear and masks are being adjusted to properly cover facial hair.
The development team is also continuing to add hairstyles requested by the community.
🎵 Custom Music and Radio Controls
Players will eventually be able to import local audio files and play custom music through in-game music players.
The team has also added a remote-control interaction that allows Zois to turn off a radio from a distance, making it easier to manage music without walking directly to the device.
Importing custom audio is still in development, while the remote radio interaction was presented as an existing addition.
🏀 Longer Basketball Dribbling and More Reactions
Basketball animations have received further improvements.
Previously, dribbling animations could end too quickly. Now, dribbling can continue as long as the Zoi maintains control of the ball.
Additional reaction animations have also been added so that friends can cheer each other on with greater enthusiasm.
🧠 Smarter Object Selection and Interactions
Several changes are designed to make autonomous behavior more logical.
Zois prioritize objects on the same floor
Zois will prioritize objects located on their current floor instead of choosing an object on another floor simply because it is technically closer.
The same principle applies to properties: objects within the current property take priority over objects in another building, even when the latter are closer by distance.
Zois wait their turn
When a Zoi wants to use an object that is already occupied by another Zoi, they will line up and wait until the interaction is finished.
This should make shared objects and busy locations feel more organized.
More comfortable walking routes
Pathfinding has also been improved so Zois can choose more walkable terrain, even when doing so means taking a longer route.
The goal is to prioritize comfortable, natural movement rather than always choosing the shortest path.
🏫 More Orderly Movement in Crowded Areas
Large groups of Zois are being improved to reduce unnecessary collisions.
For example, when students leave their classrooms at the end of a lesson, they will move in a more orderly manner instead of crowding into one another.
These adjustments are intended to make movement in busy areas look more natural.
🛏️ Rest Together in Hammocks
A new group interaction allows Zois to rest in hammocks together.
This adds another shared activity for Zois and provides more opportunities for them to spend time together in the world.
🚗 Let a Stranger Into Your Car
The video also showcases an interaction that allows a stranger to get into a Zoi's car with a single click.
The feature was presented humorously as another possible group activity, although the demonstration does not establish any additional requirements or limitations for the interaction.
🍎 MCP Modding Is Coming to macOS
One of the most significant announcements for creators is the development of inZOI MCP support for macOS.
Windows players have already been shown how to use MCP with large language models (LLMs) to create script mods through natural-language prompts. The development team is now working to bring the same capability to Mac players.
There is an important distinction: the ModKit itself will not be available on macOS, but MCP support is being developed so Mac users can also create mods with the help of LLMs.
No specific release date for macOS MCP support was provided.
🛠️ More Modding Improvements Are Planned
In a separate community update, the development team thanked players for their enthusiasm for script mods and highlighted interest in features such as flight mode, drawing mode, and door access permissions.
The team also acknowledged concerns about maintaining AI-assisted mods and keeping them compatible with future game updates. Work on mod management, compatibility, Lua, and MCP integration is expected to continue.
The broader goal is to make mod creation more accessible while helping players manage their creations as inZOI continues to receive updates.
🏗️ Build Mode and Autonomy Are Still Being Refined
The development team says work is continuing on the autonomy controls introduced in the latest update. One example is improving how Zois place food, sit down, and eat.
Build Mode is also being refined. The team is working on free placement that allows objects to be positioned outside lot boundaries, and lot editing is being tested.
However, the development team has not confirmed that all requested lot-related features will be ready within the remaining development time. These include lot rotation, lot relocation, and additional residential lots.
The team is also discussing whether decorative buildings could be removed to create empty lots and exploring ways to close gaps between houses and sidewalks.
👨👩👧 Family Presets and More Create a Zoi Options
The ability to save and reuse family presets remains in development. The team acknowledged that the wait has been frustrating and said it would try to share progress before the end of the year.
Other requested Create a Zoi features remain under consideration or development, including:
-
Height sliders
-
Appearance changes across life stages, including adolescence
-
More ways to combine bangs and hairstyles
-
Family presets that preserve situational outfits
-
Strollers
-
More detailed body-shape sliders
The development team apologized for the limited progress on some of these requests and said community feedback will continue to help determine priorities.
🔧 Core Improvements Remain the Focus
After several weeks of showcasing upcoming content, the latest video shifts attention back to the fundamental systems that make inZOI work.
The demonstrated changes focus on more reliable object selection, improved pathfinding, orderly movement, better character customization, and additional social interactions. Meanwhile, custom music, macOS MCP support, expanded Build Mode options, and family presets remain areas of ongoing development.
