A new hotfix has been released for inZOI to improve overall stability and resolve known gameplay issues. The update was applied on April 15, 2025, at 10:00 (UTC), bringing the game to version 20250414.2252.W.

Gameplay Improvements

  • Build Mode Camera Enhancements

    • The default camera now offers improved movement and rotation controls.

    • A new free camera option has been added, designed for players familiar with WASD-style navigation.

  • Character Appearance – Shadow Casting Update

    • Shadow effects have been added to both outdoor and indoor lighting, creating a more natural and realistic look during gameplay.

    • This change addresses visual discrepancies between the Character Studio and in-game environments.

    • Further visual enhancements are planned with an upcoming engine update expected later this summer.

    • Players can manage shadow settings to optimize performance based on their hardware.

    Shadow Options Added:

    1. Streetlight Shadows (Enabled by default)

      • Shadows appear beneath streetlights at night, improving nighttime realism.

      • Toggle: Options > Graphics > Custom > Streetlight Shadows

      • May slightly impact performance during nighttime scenes.

Bug Fixes

Gameplay
  • Fixed a critical issue that prevented game progress from being resumed in certain conditions.

  • Adjusted how Zoi lifespans are calculated upon game resume to prevent repeated deaths at the same age.

  • Fixed issues during fire events, including Zois not dying as expected or being unable to use stairs and extinguishers.

  • Resolved missing object bugs when reverting to default lots.

  • Fixed problems replacing locked doors and windows after platform height adjustments in apartments.

Ambitions & Goals
  • Goals in the "Notorious Villain," "Pursuit of Love," and "Community Contribution" ambitions now track correctly.

  • Revised the text for the “Financial Success” ambition to clarify that lot value is calculated without including furnishings or buildings.

Careers & Interactions
  • Addressed a progression issue in rabbit-hole careers preventing advancement to the third rank.

  • Removed the Karma requirement for animal-feeding interactions, allowing access at all times.

  • Fixed an issue where Zois couldn’t engage in conversations while riding vehicles.

UI/UX
  • Player-created households now appear at the top of the family list.

  • Fixed a bug that caused Zois to become unresponsive during furniture crafting.

  • Corrected mismatched vertical camera movement keybindings in the default mode (now Q = down, E = up, consistent with the UI).

  • Fixed mouse hover behavior after using certain Canvas upload features.

Canvas
  • Resolved an issue where accessories made via 3D Printing could not be uploaded to Canvas.

Crash Fixes
  • Addressed intermittent crash conditions.

  • Added a warning popup for users with Intel 13th and 14th Gen CPUs about potential crash risks. Players are advised to consult the FAQ for more information.
