The latest inZOI development video focuses entirely on Build Mode and property management, showcasing several improvements already made to the game alongside features that are still being explored.

The October 30 update covers more flexible object placement, improved furniture rotation, connected objects, additional land plots, property access permissions, and several quality-of-life changes. The development team also shared further details about community feedback following the October 23 Brainstorm with Kjun: Celebrity Update.

New Build Mode Features in Development

One of the main areas being explored is giving players greater freedom when building and decorating their properties.

More Flexible Object Placement

The team is working on allowing players to place building objects by overriding existing structures. This would make it possible to position items in situations where the current placement restrictions prevent them from being used.

The developers are also working on significantly expanding the freedom to place and resize different objects, giving players more control over how they design their homes and surroundings.

Connected Objects and Furniture Sets

Another concept involves making attached objects behave as part of the structures they belong to.

For example, when raising or lowering walls, objects attached to them would automatically follow the changes and adjust accordingly.

A similar system is being considered for furniture. Individual pieces placed next to one another could become a connected set, allowing players to move the entire group by selecting just one item instead of repositioning every piece separately.

Additional Land Plots

The video also offered an early look at the possibility of adding extra plots of land beyond those currently available in the game.

This feature is still in its early stages, and the team has not yet determined how it would work within inZOI. The developers also cautioned that it may not make it into the game.

Confirmed Build Mode Improvements

Alongside the concepts still being explored, the video demonstrated several improvements that have already been made.

  • More responsive rotation controls: The rotation keys have been adjusted to respond more reliably.

  • Fine rotation: Players can now make smaller furniture rotations instead of being limited to larger rotation increments.

  • Price sorting: The Build Mode filter now allows objects to be sorted by price in ascending or descending order.

These changes should make everyday building and decorating more convenient, especially when working with detailed interior designs.

Improved Property Management

Several changes were also showcased for managing residential and commercial properties.

Property Floors and Access Permissions

Previously, players could only see the first floor of a property in certain situations. The updated system makes all floors visible while a Zoi is entering through the property's door, allowing players to see more of the building during the transition.

Property owners can also control individual Zois' permissions to enter their properties, providing more flexibility over who is allowed inside.

Easier Commercial Property Settings

Managing object permissions in commercial properties has also become more convenient. Players can now apply identical permission settings to multiple objects at once instead of configuring each one separately.

Property Search and Customization

With more properties available across a city, finding a particular location can become increasingly difficult. A search bar has therefore been added to make locating properties easier.

Players can also edit an existing property's:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Thumbnail

These options provide more control over how properties are organized and presented.

Additional Gameplay Improvements

The video also included several smaller changes outside the main Build Mode features.

  • Curved-wall swimming pools: Animations for entering and exiting pools with curved walls have been improved.

  • Restaurant cleaning: Automatic cleaning options have been adjusted so restaurant employees won't clear a table while Zois are still eating.

More Details on Community Feedback

Alongside the video, the October 30 development post addressed several topics raised by players following the October 23 Brainstorm with Kjun: Celebrity Update.

Celebrity Careers and Progression

The team is considering expanding the Celebrity Update beyond idol careers. Potential additions include actors, models, and bands, as well as a progression system that would allow Zois to develop from performing on the streets to appearing on major stages.

Other ideas include connecting performance mistakes and audience reactions to a Zoi's skill level, introducing more diverse and interactive audiences, and making performances more closely reflect each Zoi's personality and everyday life.

The developers also clarified that core features such as Bubbly (SNS) will not be locked behind DLC.

Another topic under consideration is redesigning Dowon's school buses to better resemble real Korean school buses, while introducing different vehicle designs depending on the region.

Fixes Planned for the Next Update

The next update is expected to address several technical issues, including:

  • Duplicate saving and loading of identical textures in Canvas.

  • Certain game crashes.

  • Canvas portrait display problems.

  • An option to turn the camera spotlight on or off.

Additional fixes are being worked on for various appearance and environmental issues, including Young Adult female outfits outside the Formal category not being saved, eyelash manipulation problems, floating nails, gaps between shoes and feet, and the tongue clipping through the face during facial capture.

The team is also investigating flickering lights and trees appearing inside the lot at 3140 Green Way Street.

Other reported problems being addressed include Zois getting stuck in vehicles, bait, seeds, and gifts being discarded without permission, and incorrect hand positioning during wedding interactions.

Several other issues are still under investigation, such as products disappearing when restocking display stands, different character limits between Canvas Web and the in-game Canvas, and restrictions related to the Getbabywith cheat.

More Autonomous and Personality-Driven Zois

The development post also emphasized the importance of improving the game's fundamentals rather than focusing exclusively on new content.

One of the goals is to make Zoi personalities and traits more noticeable through their behavior, with more distinctive reactions and greater initiative from NPCs.

This could include Zois independently asking others on dates, confessing their feelings, or even proposing. The team also highlighted the possibility of making Zois more proactive in their everyday lives, such as automatically doing homework after returning home or visiting their friends' houses without player intervention.

The developers noted that improving existing interactions could sometimes be just as valuable as introducing entirely new ones.

Animation and Interaction Improvements

Several everyday animations are also being considered for improvements, including eating, phone calls, business payments, and preparing coffee.

The team wants to address situations where hands fail to make proper contact with objects or items appear to teleport during interactions. Existing systems such as inverse kinematics (IK) could help improve these animations.

Another goal is to extend the duration of interactions while allowing players to cancel them at any time or resume them after a Zoi takes care of an urgent need.

The team is also discussing whether to officially introduce several quality-of-life features inspired by mods, including:

  • Prioritizing leftover food.

  • Allowing Zois to watch TV together without starting a group activity.

  • Removing loading screens when switching between family members.

  • Improvements to speakers and automatic lighting.

  • Family saving options.

  • Changes to vehicle despawning.

Cartoon Filter and Mod Support

Regarding the Cartoon Filter, the team is exploring ways to let players adjust the filter to their own preferences, rather than simply bringing back the previous interface as a selectable option.

The developers also expressed appreciation for the recent script mods and reiterated their belief that the game and its modding community should eventually work together as one.
