The inZOI Next Engine Preview beta branch will become available on March 5, 2026, offering players an early look at the game’s upcoming engine upgrade.

Following the official release of Unreal Engine 5.6, inZOI is preparing to transition to the updated engine version. To help ensure a smooth rollout, the development team is opening a public beta branch prior to the live release.

🎯 Purpose of the Beta

By making the preview branch available, the inZOI team aims to test improvements introduced with Unreal Engine 5.6, including:

  • Rendering performance enhancements

  • Visual quality upgrades

  • Stability improvements and crash fixes

  • Memory management and loading optimizations

  • PCG (Procedural Content Generation) systems

  • HLOD (Hierarchical Level of Detail) improvements

  • Niagara visual effects updates

  • World Partition & streaming refinements

  • Sequencer cinematic tools

  • Landscape and environment systems

The beta will help gather performance data and identify potential issues before the full engine update is released.

🛠 How to Join the Next Engine Preview

Players can access the beta branch through Steam:

  1. Open the Steam Library

  2. Select inZOI

  3. Right-click and choose Properties

  4. Navigate to Game Versions & Betas

  5. Select next_engine from the beta branch list

Steam will automatically download the preview build once selected.

🐞 Crash Reporting & Feedback

Any crashes that occur during testing will be automatically reported to the inZOI team for review. Players are also encouraged to share feedback via the official Discord server or inZOI forums.

  • Players can switch back to the main branch at any time

  • Save files created in the beta branch are compatible with the main branch

  • Mods are not supported in the beta branch due to version compatibility

    • Mod support will return with the live engine update
